Student conference Uzhgorod 2012

On February 9th 2012, on the occasion of the International Dentist Day, known also as the feast of Saint Apollonia , the Student Conference in Uzhgorod, Ukraine took place, on the topic of “Actual possibilities of treatment and prophylaxis of diseases in dentistry.” There were 31 students’ works presented. The students from three Ukrainian faculties, the Faculty of Medicine Košice and Czech Olomouc took part in the conference. The Faculty of Medicine UPJŠ Košice was represented by Matej Urbanovský, Peter Džupa and Juraj Bánovčin and their presentations. Unfortunately, the last one could not take part because of the illness. All the works were of really high quality which was also acknowledged by the Ukrainian – Slovak committee. The conference was organized under the patronage of prof. J. J. Peresta , DrSc., the dean of The Faculty of Dentistry ,Uzhgorod National University together with doc. E. J. Kostenka, CSc. and doc. O. V. Klitinsky, CSc. We’d like to say thank you to students Ostap Ľubomyrovič Beley a Michail Machailovič Slyvka as well.
The students of The Faculty of Dentistry prepared also a nice relaxing programme for us. We could experience night students’ life, see the city Uzhgorod, try the traditional cuisine of the Zakarpattia region and spend a beautiful time with our friends. The conference was really enriching for us, both as for listeners and as for lecturers. We believe that there will be a possibility to organize such a conference in Slovakia in the near future as well. We’ve brought nice experiences, new knowledge and beautiful memories home again. We are really looking forward to welcoming some students from Uzhgorod to Košice in March to show them the beauties of our faculty and town as well.
