EVP Sofia

In November 2011, we accomplished European Visiting programme with Bulgaria, when six students from both universities visited Slovakia/ Bulgaria for one week. Our thanks belong to CAMOSCI Slovakia s.r.o , the company that had paid for accommodation of Bulgarian students here in Slovakia.

In 6.11. – 13.11. 2011 we hosted six pleasant Bulgarian students, when in about week we did our best to show them all about our University, Faculty of medicine, dental practice and surgery, but also social life and Slovak tradition. On Monday, we visited Chirana – dental s.r.o  in Piestany, where we could see the manufacture of dental units, what was unexpectedly enriching.

The social programme for our foreign friends was colorful, all the interesting practices in school and entertaining parties in the evenings, which were always special in some way. This demanding schedule took his toll in our health, five of our crew got ill.

On the other day, our friends met with rector of UPJS,. prof. MUDr. Ladislav Mirossay, DrSc, whom they were very impressed, like Tony said: “He is a really cool guy!”

The staying here in Slovakia passed quickly and Bulgarians had to return back home. On the other hand, we visited Bulgaria in 20.11. to 27.11.2011

Our friends did their best to take care of us, all the accommodation and transport stuff. In one week we had chance to see the Faculty of dental medicine in Sofia, lots of interesting practices and we could assist on a surgery, even! We also met their Dean of Faculty, he told us about the history and all the management of faculty. We especially liked their local canteen, where all the delicious food could be found.

About non- school activities, we went sightseeing to all the beautiful monuments and historic buildings in Sofia, also local spa visiting was legendary. One evening we had all the Bulgarian traditional food for dinner, very tasty. For us, the best was musaka and rakia ( no, you are right, rakia is not the food )

It was hard to say good bye to all the wonderful people we met, but we left with amazing and wonderful experience and memories. That’s what it’s worth trying!

I am thankful for this opportunity to visit and explore foreign country and meet new people. All I can do is to recommend the EVP!

PS: Also many thanks to all the students, who have helped with the stuff on Bulgarian EVP!
