activities

The range of our activities is very wide, you can see the brief summary on the menu on the right side. In general, they can be divided into the social ones focused on strengthening the team, then the preventive ones, foreign cooperation, exchange programs and other occasional actions.

Socializing

We are dealing with the project Big Brother to help the first formers to integrate into the studying process by communicating with the older students and joining them in different activities. Dental Danišovce and Fancy Dress Party are the next  activities organized with the aim of strengthening  the team.

Preventive projects

Our students regularly take part in the biggest and  the only countrywide  preventive project in Slovakia focused on the oral prevention called Dental Alarm organized by CURADEN Slovakia, s.r.o.  This project enables us to do group preventions at schools and kindergartens which not only raises  children’s awareness  of the oral health but also helps us ( dental students) to gain highly-valued  experience in communication with children. What is more, there is a new preventive program called “Days of a healthy smile” whose pilot version was conducted in May 2011 in Košice.  This program is focused on individually trained oral prophylaxis  and practical training. Every year our students take part in the summer fest Pohoda where they teach  the visitors of the fest in cooperation with CURAPROX how to take care of their teeth properly. We are open to all offers of cooperation on the field of oral hygiene and prevention and occasionally we take part in other projects as well.

Foreign cooperation

Thanks to the membership of the EDSA and the IADS  we try to keep in touch with students from abroad which enables us to exchange our experience, ideas and knowledge each other.

Exchange programs

There is no possibility for the dental students studying at our faculty to go abroad through the Erasmus. However, thanks to the European and international contacts  we can visit different universities for a short time during a term and a holiday. We already done an exchange program with Bulgarian Sofia and Romanian Timisoara and Bucurest. For more information visit the link about exchange programs.
